On Monday, President-elect Barack Obama announced that he asked his former rival to be his secretary of state. After eight years as senator from New York, Hillary Clinton is trading places, moving from Congress to the incoming administration. But what will become of Mrs. Clinton’s seat in the Senate? There has been speculation that her husband, Bill Clinton, would take her place in the Senate. Governor Paterson is seriously thinking about making this happen.
I believe that the addition of former President Bill Clinton to the Senate would bring more success to Capitol Hill. If this does occur, it will be the first time in history that a former-president would switch his seat and be brought into the Senate. The addition of Hillary to President-elect Barack Obama’s cabinet would undoubtedly bring strength to his cabinet and I believe that she would make great desicions regarding the betterment of America as a whole. Only time will tell the future of this country and we will begin to see this unfold in the coming few months.
