Obama Aims TV Ads at Younger Voters

This year, presidential elections have been known for their intensive “ads battle”. Both presidential candidates have tried to reach every social group in the nation and in order to do so they have extended their strategy to buy time for TV commercials. This article talks about how Senator Obama is turning his TV advertisements to one of the most important and once ignored group during presidential elections; the youth people. As the article says, “Officials at MTV Networks report that he has bought commercial time on three of its networks, Comedy Central, VH1 and Spike”. This is a really good strategy because these channels are widely known for their young rate and content that can attract millions of young people.
More than a campaign’s strategy, in my opinion, this initiative reflects the need that young people get involved in politics. Past years, it has been shown that young people are not that active in presidential elections. Why? Don’t governmental regulations affect their lives? it shouldn’t be like that. Young people are a very big group in the United States so they need to be present when deciding which will be our leader in November. Politics affect their lives hence they have to choose which candidate is more beneficial for them and, by the way, for their family and country.
